Self-diagnosis
28 June 2006I have plantar fasciitis.
Well, I’m quite sure I do. I haven’t been to the doctor, but I have those symptoms, especially the heel that’s very sore first thing in the morning when I get out of bed. This condition is also often named a “bone spur”.
Although I have several of the circumstances that can cause it – flat feet, a bit overweight, running – I’ve had those things for years. This has only been happening for the last few weeks. Luckily, there’s less gig attendance coming up. I was putting the brakes on my habit anyway.
I’ll try some rest and foot stretches for now. If it doesn’t improve, I’ll get the doc to look at it.
